Good evening, everyone,
As I stand here tonight, filled with emotion and pride, I want to welcome you all to our 20th anniversary recital. Two decades—it’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed, and how much love, dedication, and joy have gone into every step along the way.
When I opened the studio twenty years ago, I was just 19 years old. I was young, full of big dreams, and maybe a little crazy—but I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to create a space where people could fall in love with dance the way I had. A place where dancers of all ages and abilities could come not just to learn technique, but to find confidence, community, and joy in movement. I had no idea then how deeply this studio would grow into something so much more-a second home, a family, and a source of inspiration for so many. I never could’ve imagined then that we’d still be here 20 years later, surrounded by so much love, talent, and community.
Tonight’s recital is not just a celebration of dance, it’s a celebration of every dancer who has walked through our doors, every parent who has cheered from the sidelines, and every teacher who has poured their heart into shaping the next generation. It’s also a tribute to resilience, passion, and the power of pursuing something you love with your whole heart.
To our dancers, past and present: you are the heartbeat of this studio. Your energy, your creativity, your courage to express yourselves through movement—that is what makes this place so special. Watching you grow not only as dancers but as people has been the greatest gift of all.
To our incredible faculty, now and through the years: your guidance and artistry have shaped this studio’s legacy. I take pride, that most of our staff is part of our studio’s alumni, growing up here at the studio; and now sharing their love and passion with all of your children. You have all taught with patience, inspired with purpose, and helped instill values that go far beyond the dance floor.
To the families who have supported us, throughout these years: thank you. Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s dreams. Thank you for the carpools, the costumes, the rehearsals, and the late-night runs for bobby pins and tights. We have been through a lot together, from hurricanes, destroying our building, a wedding, pregnancies, to moving locations, to the pandemic, forcing us to take class over zoom, and having recitals outdoors. Being by my side, while we were rebuilding from these hard times. Your support has made everything possible, and I could never thank you all enough.
And finally, to my own family, friends, and mentors—thank you for standing by me on this journey. Your encouragement helped me bring this dream to life, and your belief in this vision has never wavered.
Tonight, as we look back on twenty incredible years, we also look forward—with excitement and gratitude—for everything that’s still to come. Our story is far from over, and I can’t wait to keep writing it together, one step at a time.
